Major individual gifts dramatically transform non-profit organizations. They are central to capital campaigns and they allow for long-term financial planning by building endowment funds. Although major donors sometimes give through private foundations or privately held companies, the focus in this course is on major individual giving, not sponsorship or grants, which are covered in Fund 516 and 529.
