In this course, students critique journalistic and public relations writing for purpose, content, structure, style and voice, and complete writing/editing/reading assignments. Students conduct basic research and write works of exposition, opinion, description and narration according to purpose and audience. They produce writing that has a precisely expressed central idea. Students also proofread their own and each others' work, identifying and correcting faults in grammar, punctuation, spelling and usage.
