This course provides the student with in depth training on the basic operating principles of a digital audio workstation – particularly using the Pro Tools platform. Emphasis will be placed on the manipulation of digital audio in terms of mixing, processing, and automation. Time will also be spent on MIDI and sequencing applications for composition. The skills taught in this course will help the student understand the capabilities of music editing and mixing software, and prepare students for the Master Class in Music Production course in the third year of the degree, where they will be required to work independently with the software.
