New Research Technologies

In this course, students will learn about cutting-edge technologies and practices that are current, and emerging in the research industry. Technology that is used in both qualitative and quantitative research studies for data collection, management and analysis will be evaluated. Social media and website assessment techniques will be covered in this course including how to manage and use this type of data. Students will learn how surveys are designed for the internet and both CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing) and CAPI (Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing) applications. Students may choose to focus on one or more new research technologies for use in their major research project.
