Course Description
In this course, students will develop an understanding of basic wave theory, analogue and digital audio formats and standards. They will receive hands-on training in non-linear audio element management, narration editing, sound effects, music editing, and automated mixing. Most classes will be divided into a classroom component and a lab component, the latter giving students regular instructor-supervised lab time with the industry's primary audio editing application, Digidesign's Pro Tools. The platform content of the course follows that of the PT 101 course in Digidesign's Professional Training Program, and interested students may optionally take the online exam for that course at the end of the semester.
