Private Security and Investigations in Canada

In this course students will learn how to undertake and document investigations from the private sector perspective for civil and criminal purposes including court preparation and conformity to relevant legislation including the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the Private Security and Investigations Act, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, the Freedom of Information Act and others. Included in this course is the application of effective intelligence gathering techniques including observation, research and consultation, and adherence to the rules of evidence.
