In this course, students explore the concepts of professional identity and professional responsibility as it relates to the massage therapy profession in Ontario. Students discover what a massage therapist is, knows, does, and believes. Students explore the ethics associated with being a health professional in Ontario. Students discuss general concepts of self-awareness, ethics, morals, and values. Group discussions, lectures, and assignments help students engage with a clinical decision making model that is ethical, outcomes based and evidence informed. Cases allow students to apply a model for ethical clinical decision-making to help them fulfill their professional responsibilities.
