Public and Private Powers

This course will examine the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and its impact on Canadian criminal procedures. Arrest by citizen, border patrol, private investigator, security guard and peace officer, release, search and seizure authority with and without warrant will be discussed. This course will enable the student to become familiar with criminal terminology and apply the procedures required to affect arrest, search and release.
