Selling the destinations of Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Oceania, and the Pacific focuses on the geographic, cultural, social, economic, and environmental factors that drive the tourism experience and sales throughout these regions. Visitor perspectives, tourism patterns and activities, target markets, modes of transportation, airport/city codes and accommodation options will also be explored. These destinations offer an abundance of travel options for the consumer and it is essential that tourism professionals understand the unique selling strategies to each of these regions. Students will develop the essential destination knowledge and skills to successfully sell and promote tourism into these regions through review of various selling techniques and completion of a group assignment.
