Academic Year

2016-2017

This course will expose you to the central issues surrounding the development of professional digital portfolios: websites, podcasts, Flash and CD-ROM. You will plan and create a small website based on your portfolio of work created in the program. This website will be scaleable in that it could be the basis for a much larger website. You will create a website that will foster a business-like and professional Internet presence. The content you create for your website will then be repurposed into Flash presentations that can be distributed via the Internet, Ipods, and CD-ROM. It is essential that you follow through with the assignments and be able to have content you want to provide online by the second week of classes. This is not a course in HTML, Photoshop, Dreamweaver or Flash. Although these software titles will be covered in some detail you are expected to either know these programs or be able to learn quickly their main points and their relevance to website design and building a website. Most of all you are expected to know how work effectively in a Microsoft Windows environment.
