This course develops the mathematical skills required for more advanced courses in the Tourism Management - Travel Industry Services Program. Through classroom content and practical exercises, students relate concepts of mathematics to industry applications. Students analyze and practise the basic pricing and costing principles used by both the suppliers and sellers of travel. Through course work, students interpret industry terminology and the financial documents used by businesses to produce profitable sales. The course introduces students to the key functions of Microsoft Excel for the purpose of creating spreadsheets.
