Academic Year

2016-2017

Through theory and experiential learning, students experience the wide variety of elements involved in the conception, development, design and execution of a group trip to an international destination. Students learn how to set objectives, allocate resources, complete budget proposals and co-ordinate team efforts to organize the group trip. After the class selects the destination for their trip, students engage in an in-depth study of the destination and identify valuable learning opportunities related to tourism. In the chosen destination, students participate in hotel inspections, visit major tourist attractions and meet with local tourism and hospitality industry suppliers (activities will vary according to the selected destination).
