While continuing to examine TV history through various genres, and critically analyzing current programs and trends, students also look ahead to the new realities of running a writers' room in the 21st century. The course looks more specifically at the example and influence of specific, currently prominent show-runners: what makes them great, keeps them current and has a particular appeal to the individual student who hopes to follow in their footsteps. The course takes a more practical and in-depth approach to applying what has been learned from what's beem seen and discussed.
