Course Description

Students will acquire an appreciation of the breakthroughs in technology in painting and drawing through the centuries that led to the great achievements in representational art. Students will study the personalities who were pivotal in these developments. The first era will include objective figurative drawing, painting and sculpture from prehistoric times through ancient Greece and Rome, Byzantine and the Middle Ages through the Renaissance and Baroque period.
