Foundation Painting

Course Description

Through the exploration and application of oil painting materials and techniques, students begin to develop their capacity for observation and creative self-expression with textures and surfaces. Students will work from casts initially, isolating the analytical task to primarily monochrome painting. As working in oils is the most flexible medium, students will master this medium in preparation for others.
