This course requires students to develop a fully realized transportation design, including package layout, inspiration boards, graphic presentation and a scale model. Students will need to consider brand DNA, ergonomic and packaging considerations, motive power, environmental issues, and the social context for the vehicle. Design and development of this project will be supported through presentations, lectures, intensive in class sketching and an essay in which students can reflect upon and justify their design direction. Model construction is a key element in this course and will be supported in one-on-one consultations with the Professor. Manufacturability, technology and commercial justification will be a major aspect of any successful outcome.
