In this course, students examine various aspects of victimization. Criminological theories of victimization are analyzed and applied. There is a focus on the government's responsibility to support victims and an opportunity to analyze the effectiveness of this function. The experience of the victim is examined in order to understand the challenges that the victim faces as an individual and in their defined role within the criminal justice system.
