Modern dynamic web sites and web applications are built using the interaction of server-side languages and databases with browser-side ones. Students will explore this interaction by learning to program with PHP, MySQL and JavaScript. Key concepts covered include the proper structuring of programming code, as well as how to use PHP to automate various common web development tasks. Students will also be shown that PHP, as a very versatile language, can be used for a multitude of tasks, especially on the web. Troubleshooting and debugging techniques are also utilized throughout the examples in class.
