Writing Principles: Introduction

This foundational course introduces core writing skills, reviewing and practising the basics to build confidence and confirm student knowledge before building skills to more advanced levels. The course introduces communications theory and strategy, focusing on voice, tone, audience analysis, critical thinking, and creativity. It provides and introduction to practical writing skills including major modules on grammar, mechanics, and style. The course also introduces students to a variety of writing forms and contexts through which students can solidify their skills and explore their career options as writers.
