REVIT: Introduction

This course is an introduction to building information modeling (BIM) using the Autodesk Revit software platform. The purpose is to cover the basic principles of the Revit Architecture technology and the building information modeling (BIM) approach. The latest version of Revit Architecture software for Windows will be demonstrated with extensive hands-on experience in a computer lab. Topics will include advantages of BIM; file types and formats; BIM file management; the Revit interface; 3D modeling; material properties; creation and application; linking and constraints; custom content creation; families and components; wood-frame residential modeling, including walls, floors, foundations, sloped roofs, doors, windows and stairs; and Siteworks.
