Product Development, Prototyping and Entrepreneurship for Industrial Designers

Have you considered starting your own business? Maybe you have a product idea or a hobby that you'd like to take to the next level. Not sure where to start? Don't have access to fabrication shop facilities? This 10-week course has been developed to meet the needs of Industrial Design students & graduates who have the entrepreneurship bug.

Through this course, Product Development, Prototyping and Entrepreneurship, you will have access to the Industrial Design workshop (during class hours) to build prototypes using the various plastic, wood and metal working tools available.

You will also have the opportunity to learn what it takes to start and run a business while developing one of your own product designs. Business taxes, offshore sourcing, rapid prototyping and many more topics will be discussed each week.

NOTE: This course is open to students or graduates of an Industrial Design program and presupposes that registrants have completed the requisite safety training in order to be able to use shop equipment. Contact the instructor in order to verify that you are eligible.

This 10 week course runs Tuesday evenings beginning June 27th.
