Alternative Spring Break

An alternative spring break is your chance to see the south in a non-traditional way. The trips that are planned are exciting, adventurous and often life-altering – they take experiential learning to a new level!

Humber and Guelph-Humber students have the opportunity to volunteer in exotic locations such as Ecuador, New Orleans, and the Dominican Republic. Volunteer experiences have included: building schools, private homes, and teaching local children English.

As a participant you will gain the following:

  • Valuable leadership and team-building skills
  • Enhanced self-esteem
  • Sense of Global Citizenship
  • A true feeling of making a difference
  • An excellent resume builder

What you need to know:

  • Students are required to pay for their trip and required to help fund-raise to subsidise the cost of the trip
  • Students are required to attend training sessions prior to the trip
  • Students are required to sign waivers and order proper insurance documents
