The School of Media Studies & Information Technology is Canada's largest college-level combination of media-sector programs. The School’s 3,000 full and part-time students train with a team of dedicated professionals in everything from public relations, journalism, fundraising, advertising, and graphic design to digital arts, 3D animation, film and television production, web-based media and information technology.

“Our standards are high, as are our student’s performance expectations. We enroll the best, and produce graduates with the skills sought after by industry.”
William Hanna, Associate Vice President, Academic Operations & Dean, School of Media Studies & Information Technology

Mobile Broadcast Studio

Developed through the Centre of Excellence in Broadcasting Education, Humber is currently undergoing plans to develop a Mobile Broadcast Studio for its Broadcast Television and Videography Program students. At the present time, hands-on, live experience for mobile broadcasts is not currently available and the existing studio space at Humber cannot accommodate this educational requirement. This practical educational experience is necessary for Humber to train well-educated, qualified students in mobile broadcast production to meet a high demand for skilled workers in the Canadian broadcasting industry. By converting a former culinary lab into a mobile production studio and acquiring tow mobile broadcast trucks, Humber TV production graduates will obtain an enhanced set of technical skills and gain valuable learning experience, preparing them for future employment opportunities. It will also enable Humber to have on-site technical support that can be used for the School’s community outreach activities, increasing public awareness while simultaneously eliminating overhead costs.
