Program of Study: International Business
Hometown: Etobicoke, ON
Age: 23
Where in the Program: Currently completing my final semester of the four-year degree program

What did you do before coming to Humber?
I studied biology for a year at university, but decided that I wanted to interact with people, not spend all my time in a lab. Plus, living away from home was expensive. I chose Humber first for Fashion Management, because I love fashion, but then decided International Business would allow for me to travel more and I could still potentially work in fashion.

What are your classes like?
For the most part they are good as every aspect in International Business is touched. I'm learning about all aspects of international business, and everything I learn will come in handy, no matter what career I choose. I've learned about logistics, marketing, law, consumer behaviour, finance, presentations and more.

What do you most enjoy about Humber?
As the campus (Lakeshore) is not huge, it's easy to make friends with a lot of people in different programs. Plus, classes are small, so I have gotten to know all my classmates very well. The professors are able to help a lot more than in my one year in university, and they actually know the students.

What did you do for your internship to gain practical field experience?
I interened with a printing company in Indonesia. It was a fantastic experience to travel around the world. I learned a great deal about the differences between business in Asia and in Canada, especially in terms of consumer behaviour and logistics.

Why should someone interested in International Business come to study at Humber?
The summer placement is so critical. At Humber you learn the theory behind international business, and you get to put it into practice. That's what makes Humber stand out from other schools, and will help me stand out from other applicants when it comes to applying for jobs. Having experience while still finishing up school is a great way of gaining an upper hand than the rest.

Favourite hobby/what you most enjoy doing in your spare time:
Music, movies, reading and even sewing!

Favourite movie:
A tie between Star Wars and Lord of the Rings.

The food you could eat almost every day:
Indonesian food! I loved all the food I got to eat on my internship.
