Program: Bachelor of Applied Business - Human Resources Management
Years at Humber: 10 years
Education: I have my LLB. from the University of Toronto and my Masters of Law from Osgoode Hall Law School
What did you do before Humber?
I worked as a Human Resources Advisor at a business association and at Dofasco Inc. in Hamilton. I also taught employment law at York and Ryerson Universities.
How long have you been at Humber?
I have taught at Humber for 10 years (8 of those part-time); the last two years I have been a professor and program coordinator for the Bachelor of Applied Business - HRM program.
What are your classes like?
I try to bring a lot of variety to my classes: interactive lectures, discussions, debates, problem-solving exercises and "games" are all aimed at engaging students and making the material real and relevant.
Why should someone interested in Human Resources Management come to Humber?
Entering the field of human resources with a strong business foundation, as well as work experience, gives Humber's HR degree graduates an edge in the labour market.
How are Humber students and graduates unique in the industry?
Humber HR degree students graduate with a strong business background because their first two years are spent in the common business platform. They also graduate with practical hands-on work experience after completing their paid work term in the summer between third and fourth years..
