Humber College Chaplaincy - An introduction to our services...
The Humber College Chaplaincy is a service to students to meet their spiritual needs. The Chaplain helps students of all faiths, with a primary service being the administration of the Prayer Room, with one on each of the main campuses.
The Humber College Chaplain serves the spiritual needs of students. Everyone has a spiritual viewpoint that informs and impacts all aspects of life, so the Chaplain is available to provide spiritual counselling for students. Sometimes, just having someone to talk with helps.
There are many faiths represented on a college campus, so an Interfaith Chaplaincy service is offered by Humber College. The Chaplain can help students to relate to and interact with the persons and needs of different faith backgrounds by providing counselling, coordination, facilitation and referral. For instance, if a student is seeking a place of worship or contact with or counsel from a specific faith group, the Chaplain can provide assistance.
The Chaplain monitors and supervises the use of the Prayer Room, which is provided to the students by Humber College. The Prayer Room on each campus is an Interfaith Prayer Room. It requires showing respect for one another and their varying customs in using the facilities. Humber College has policies which govern such use so that fair consideration can be given to all.
Please note: For June, July and August, the Chaplain is not scheduled to be on campus but can still be reached via the contact information provided on this web-site.
Also note: At the present time, no chaplaincy services are expected to be provided at the Orangeville campus. However, persons from any campus related to Humber College may contact the Chaplain and use the Interfaith Chaplaincy Services. Contact the Orangeville campus for information about faith-based services in that area.
