Olive Senior
Olive Senior was born and brought up in Jamaica. She has worked in journalism in Jamaica and Canada, and divides her time between the two countries. She is currently Visiting Professor of Creative Writing at St Lawrence University, USA. Olive has published two books of poetry: Talking of Trees (1986) and Gardening in the Tropics (1994).

Andrew Clark
Andrew Clark is an award-winning journalist and filmmaker. His most recent book A Keen Soldier: The Execution of Second World War Private Harold Pringle was nominated for the Drainie-Taylor Biography Prize, The Pearson Writers’ trust Non-fiction Prize and the 2003 Governor General’s Award Literary for Non-fiction. His first book, Stand and Deliver: Inside Canadian Comedy was published in 1997.

One-Act Play:
Ed Roy

Ed Roy is a director, playwright, dramaturge and actor who has worked extensively on stage, film and TV. He has been the recipient of the Pauline McGibbon Award for directing, the Chalmers Award for play writing and two Dora Awards for outstanding productions. Ed is currently the Artistic Director of Topological Theatre and Company Dramaturge and Associate Artist at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre. His plays, including The Other Side of the Closet and Daredevil, are frequently produced in Canada and United States.

Short Story:
 
Wayson Choy

Born in Vancouver in 1939, Wayson Choy has spent much of his life engaged in teaching at and writing in Toronto. He is a volunteer for various community literacy projects and AIDS groups and, for three years running, was elected President of Cahoots Theatre Company in Toronto. He is the winner of numerous awards for his work and the subject of a recent documentary film by Michael Glassberg. Wayson’s new book, All That Matters, will be coming this October.
