Liberal studies education is an integral and exciting component of every student’s experience at Humber College. In your diploma or degree elective courses, you will sit next to students who are studying to work in the fields of engineering, medicine, media, business, community service, and the arts. You will meet international students from dozens of countries around the world. The disciplines that make up the Department of Liberal Studies --- psychology, economics, history, philosophy, humanities, cultural studies, sociology and natural science --- help to prepare you for the 21^st century career challenges and opportunities you will face. You may find yourself working on state-of-the-art technology while thinking about the philosophy of love and sex; about issues in crime; about musical pioneers; or about popular culture. In General Education or Breadth courses, you have the opportunity to engage in ideas that are at once unique, dynamic and life-changing.
