How long is the program? How much time will it take me to complete the program?
Academic Upgrading is an individualized program. The length of time it will take to complete the program will be different for each learner. Most learners stay for a minimum of 6 months and the maximum time allowed is 12 months.
Do I receive a Humber College certificate or a Humber College transcript when I complete the program?
At present no certificate or transcript is offered.
When I complete the Academic Upgrading Program do I receive a Grade 12 diploma?
No, the Academic Upgrading program does not provide a Grade 12 diploma or equivalency.
Am I guaranteed admission into a college program when I complete Academic Upgrading?
No, entrance requirements may vary from year to year and with each college program. Check with your counselor or the Humber College Calendar for details regarding admission criteria.
Do I have to create a training plan?
Every learner in the Academic Upgrading Program must work with their teachers and their counselor to develop a training plan.
Must I complete the entire Academic Upgrading Program before going on to a college program?
No, learners are not prohibited from applying to a college program once they feel they are ready to do so. However, we strongly recommend that learners stay in Academic Upgrading and complete all of the recommended upgrading in order to increase their chances of being admitted to and successfully completing their college program.
