Our Purpose
The purpose of the Academic Upgrading Program is to help learners to improve their English and math skills. In some circumstances the program can also assist learners with science skills.
The program is offered at the North Campus of Humber College. Learners must be available to attend classes from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. In September and January, night classes are offered one night per week.
The Academic Upgrading Program also offers learners assistance in the following:
- becoming comfortable in a college environment
- developing an individualized training plan
- defining career and education goals through self-assessment
- finding support and encouragement that leads to success
To be eligible for the program, learners must be 18 years of age or older, a resident of Ontario, and legally able to work in Ontario.

The Academic Upgrading Program is sponsored by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and is FREE to learners who qualify.
