Our Purpose

Robert A. Gordon Learning CentreThe purpose of the Academic Upgrading Program is to help learners to improve their English, math skills, and computer skills as well as biology and chemistry inlab-based environments. 

The program is offered at the North Campus of Humber College. Learners must be available to attend classes from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. 

The Academic Upgrading Program also offers learners assistance in the following:

  • becoming comfortable in a college environment
  • developing an individualized training plan
  • defining career and education goals through self-assessment
  • finding support and encouragement that leads to success

To be eligible for the program, a learner must be 19 years of age or older, a resident of Ontario, and legally able to work in Ontario.

If you are interested in learning more about the Academic Upgrading program, you must attend an Information and Assessment Session to establish eligibility. Please call our information line at (416) 675-6622, extension 4842 and leave your name and phone number. We will call you back about the dates of the next information sessions so you can be registered to participate in a session.

The Academic Upgrading Program is FREE to learners who qualify.
