Test Centre Procedures - All Campuses

- Students must know their instructor’s last name, as all the tests are filed in this manner.
- Before being permitted to write a test, students must present their student number plus one piece of current PHOTO IDENTIFICATION (Humber Student Card, Driver’s License, TTC Card, Passport, or be identified by their teacher).
- The Test Centre is to be used by students who have a legitimate reason for not writing a test during the regularly scheduled class. The Test Centre is not to be used as a “study hall”.
- Open book tests are permitted if indicated on the Referral Form. Any material allowed must be noted on the Referral Form.
- A completed Referral From must be attached to every test. Please mark and initial all teaching aids (calculator, dictionary, etc.) or the student will not be permitted to use them.
- The Test Centre is not to be used by students who wish to complete tests or assignments begun in class. Teachers are not permitted to bring groups of students to the Test Centre on a “drop-in” basis. The Test Centre is not a replacement for schedule in-class testing. In order to ensure that our Centre is accessible to all, teachers may only have a maximum of seven students writing in the North test centre and five in the Lakeshore test centre at the same time.
- All tests must be written on authorized Test Centre paper.
- Students are not permitted to take notes or other materials to their desk except those authorized by the professor and referenced on the Test Centre Referral form. Any unauthorized material may be confiscated and an incident report may be filed.
- While calculators and dictionaries are permitted on some tests, students will not be allowed to use any form of electronic storage device like electronic dictionaries, Blackberries, etc.
- All tests must be delivered and picked up by the faculty member. Please do not mail, email or fax tests to the Test Centre.
- When a student begins a test in the Test Centre, they will not be allowed to leave until the test is completed and handed back to the Test Centre staff.
- Students will be asked to place all books, coats, and bags in the designated areas of the Test Centre. The Test Centres assume no responsibility for items left in the storage area within the Centres themselves.
- All cell phones, pages, MP3 players, etc. must be turned OFF completely and out of sight in the Test Centre. If one of these devices goes off while in the Centre, you will be asked to hand in your test immediately and leave the area. As well a note will be attached to the test for your instructor.
