 She Rides

She Rides is the collaborative creation of 3 Humber Motorcycle Instructors – Beverley Lee, Karen Hodgson, who also designed the logo and Liz Jansen with input from Ray Barker and thanks to Andy Hertel and John Reed.

She Rides originated from the desire to increase awareness, provide resources and inspire increased participation in our sport for female participants.

Female ridership is increasing; women still represent only 10 to 12% of riders. While services exist and have increased, it can be difficult to source appropriate equipment, apparel and information. For that reason, Humber College developed an interactive forum where women could obtain information, ask questions and benefit from the expertise, experience and knowledge of our instructional staff.

She Rides is the result of this. It was first presented at the Toronto Motorcycle Show in December 2005 as a series of workshops. In December 2006, She Rides expanded to a larger venue, including interactive displays and informational resources which are attached here.

Look for She Rides again at the Toronto Motorcycle Show in December as it continues to grow.

Here are links to some of the interesting discussions created for the She Rides program.
