Humber’s Marketing & Communications department commissioned faculty and alumni from its School of Creative & Performing Arts and the School of Applied Technology to design and build 3D lettering as part of its strategic marketing campaign – MORE.
Mark Soszka, Humber faculty, who teaches special effects and stage craft in the Theatre Production program worked on the project. “It was a three week process. We hand-carved the words in foam, added a protective layering and then painted them with fibre glass paint.” Soszka, who is a Humber graduate from the program, worked with other alumni to complete the design.
The School of Applied Technology's 3D letters were constructed from wood.
The letters, which stand approximately three-feet tall and two-feet wide, will be used in Humber’s marketing campaigns throughout the 2010-2011 school year.
