Lee Flohr, a recent Humber Journalism graduate, has been selected by the British Council as one of five young Canadians to attend climate forums on finance and media in Shanghai, China.
A Toronto-based freelance science journalist, Flohr also holds a degree in biochemistry from the University of Lethbridge, Alberta.
Through a competition promoted by the Canadian Science Writers’ Association, Floh is one of two young journalists selected to attend a climate change international workshop in Shanghai (Sept. 1-5).
The workshop includes journalists and journalism students from 20 countries, as well as senior British and Chinese scientists.
“Attending the conference in Shanghai is important in terms of promoting and supporting the reputation of science journalism. This opportunity will give me the chance to network with leaders in climate change and bring fresh ideas back to Toronto,” says Flohr.
Through a national competition for International Climate Champions, the British Council also selected three university students to attend a “Climate Finance Forum” (Sept. 1-7), with young people from 15 other countries.
