Humber grad honoured with The Order of Ontario

On January 26, 2012, Humber graduate, Rahul Singh, received The Order of Ontario, the province’s highest official order. This honour recognizes residents of Ontario who have demonstrated a high level of individual excellence and achievement in any field benefiting the people of Ontario or citizens anywhere in the world.

Singh, a 1993 graduate from Humber’s Paramedic program, is Founder and Director of Emergency Programs with GlobalMedic, an organization which provides international disaster relief. He has led more than 60 missions in more than 30 countries and the organization has more than 500 volunteers.

Singh has been honoured with numerous awards for his work with GlobalMedic. Most recently he received the 2011 Premier’s Award in the Health Sciences category. These awards celebrate the outstanding contributions that Ontario College graduates make to the province and throughout the world.

Other accolades have included being named one of “Canada’s Top 40 Under 40” and, being on Time magazine's list of 100 most influential people in the world.
