Back to school tips from Humber degree students

Date:
August 31, 2010

As Humber students head back to class, senior degree students and recent graduates have this advice to offer:

  • Get involved with your program, actively participate and volunteer at events taking place in your field. -Katelynn, Interior Design, ‘11

  • Treat it like a full-time job. Schedule your study time and your personal life. Build a strong relationship with your fellow classmates, as they are your greatest support system. - Kayan, Paralegal, ‘12

  • Always attend classes.  You need to be there in order to grasp all the material. - Branden, Criminal Justice, ‘12
  • Learn time management quickly. College/University is different than high school.  You have to keep up with readings and independent study to succeed.  - Michael, E-Business Marketing, ‘12
  • Be prepared to work long hours. Start your work early and stay on your game – it’s all about   endurance. - Philippe, Industrial Design, ‘10

  • Establish a routine from day one, as the work gets harder as you progress through the years.  - Jorgen, Creative Advertising, ‘09
