Humber Bachelor of Paralegal Studies degree student Fallon Burns won the 2012 Team Tim Hortons Scholarship.
Designed to encourage and recognize Tim Hortons restaurant team members, the Team Tim Hortons Scholarship Program emphasizes the importance of education. Every year, the company provides a total of 220 scholarships across Canada and the United States, each valued at $1,000.
For the competition, applicants were asked to submit an essay highlighting an event where the candidate demonstrated leadership or volunteerism. Fallon chose to write about her participation in the 2012 Osgood Cup National Undergraduate Mooting Competition where she and her Humber teammate, Paige Diebel, placed in the quarterfinals.
“I chose to write about my experience at the Osgoode Cup because it inspired me and was an eye-opening experience,” says Fallon.
