Students, grads and faculty at Humber’s School of Media Studies and Information Technology have recently caught the attention of industry organizations:
Fall 2012 graduates Mat Cruz, Michael Corpuz and Heli Prajapati won awards of merit from the Advertising and Design Club of Canada’s annual student design competition.
Graphic design students submitted a series of entries to help rebrand a key Ontario landmark: Ontario Place. As part of a class project, third-year students created logos for the Toronto waterfront complex, which is in the early stages of revitalization. “To work on a real project and pitch our ideas was a great experience for us,” said Chantal Cronk, team lead for one of the winning designs. “It really encouraged us to work harder and bring fresh perspective to our branding designs."
Front-end development professor Christina Truong was the fifth person to be interviewed by Women&Tech, a popular blog that highlights women working in technology fields.
