Course Code

JRNL 222

Academic Year

2016-2017

This course is structured to address the expanding role of computer-assisted research and reporting (CARR) in the broadcast or print or online newsroom. Participants become familiar with the opportunities and advantages available to reporters capable of employing these skills, which take investigative reporters well beyond blind surfing and social networking into the realm of number-crunching and data management, manipulation and interpretation. It s worth noting that editors expect graduates from journalism schools to bring this expertise into their newsrooms.
