Humber People
Joe Flaherty
Joe Flaherty is a wonderful addition to the Comedy:
Writing & Performance
program at Humber and our students are sure to benefit, says Joe
Kertes, Dean, Humber
School of Creative & Performing Arts. His experience
encompasses all the elements of comedy that we teach. Besides being a
performer on film and television, he's an accomplished writer of sketch
comedy. And, he's been a popular teacher in our summer workshop, so he
has the classroom experience, too.
Joe Flaherty's career began at Second City in Toronto
and Chicago. He is, however, best known for his work on SCTV,
which earned him two Emmy Awards for writing. His countless feature film
roles include appearances on The Wrong Guy, Back to the Future
2, Who's
Harry Crumb? , and many others. His television credits include, among
others, the critically-acclaimed Freaks and Geeks, Ellen, Married
with Children, and the highly-acclaimed Maniac Mansion in
which he starred.
Most recently, he made guest appearances on The
King of Queens, That
70's Show, Frasier, and Royal Canadian Air Farce.
Joe Flaherty began teaching at Humber in September 2002.
