Your Career

Find exciting positions in television, feature film production, postproduction facilities, and camera and sound departments. Experienced graduates are freelance producers to the industry at large.

Our Program

Humber's program offers the skills and knowledge you need to launch a successful career in film or television production. Students complete film and video projects while learning to work as part of a production team. The curriculum includes individual and multidisciplinary assignments geared to developing both creative and technical proficiency. Large studios and modern production equipment support these goals, enabling students to produce high-quality work. A comprehensive and balanced approach to study includes opportunities to produce, write, direct, shoot and edit on numerous projects. With a strong commitment to postproduction, students gain practical experience on a variety of video and audio workstations. In addition, business marketing skills and a field placement are integrated into the third year of the program.

Work Placement

Fieldwork runs from four to eight weeks, and is unpaid. Instructors work with students to find a suitable placement, enabling them to hone their skill sets in a professional environment.

Your Future Study Options

Graduates with an overall GPA of 70 per cent or better may be considered for admission to the four-year Bachelor of Applied Arts - Film and Media Production and may then complete the degree with the equivalent of four semesters of full-time study plus a paid work term.
