Your Career

The rapid advancement of technology has made computer animation available to the masses and the animation industry is one of the fastest growing industries. The demand for animated entertainment has expanded with the increase in broadcasting hours by cable and satellite TV along with the growing popularity of the Internet. There are a number of different career paths for animators. Animators are often thought of as the talented artists who create the cartoons we love, either for film or movies. While animators continue to work in these areas, many are employed creating animated graphics for a variety of projects. This can include websites, online advertisements and video games. Animators can find full-time employment with movie or television production companies, with advertisers, web design firms, video-game companies or with animation firms.

Our Program

Our program helps equip you for a career in 3D animation, which requires strong art and animation skills, as well as a solid familiarity with the latest in computer animation technologies. You will not only work with the same technology that is used in the industry, you will learn the essential aspects of storytelling and design to turn creative thoughts into compelling images, using them to effectively communicate an idea.

This Multimedia 3D Animation diploma program offers a unique blend of digital and analog art skills, as well as an understanding of the creative and technical processes involved. Students observe and acquire solid art principles along with storytelling and design skills. They'll learn to draw, visualize and effectively apply colour principles. With the mastery of texture mapping and animation, students translate traditional art skills into the modeling of characters, objects, scenes, and virtual worlds. Skills in audio and video production are also covered so that story continuity and believability become the hallmarks of student productions.

If you thought animation was about moving objects, by taking this program, you will soon discover that being an animator is really about moving the audience.
