This program builds on previous learning and creative experience to further develop your skills in 3D animation production, while applying communication and acting skills to tell a story. At the same time, you will enhance and expand the visual and technical skills required in today’s highly competitive animation industry.
Designed for postsecondary art school graduates and professionals looking to further their studies, the 3D for Production – Computer Animation program is an intensive, one-year program that puts equal emphasis on technical skills and esthetic development. Students graduating from this course have the ability to create, as well as produce. Students may choose character animation, visual effects, technical direction or post-production as a focal point, with the end goal being the completion of a professional reel.
Through unique arrangements with industry leaders such as Autodesk, Vicon, and Adobe, Humber’s School of Media Studies & Information Technology maintains its reputation at the forefront of the media industry.
Students graduating from the 3D for Production certificate program enter the industry with a professional demo reel that demonstrates their abilities – both technical skills, and creative. Graduates find work in 3D character animation for feature films, compositing and special effects for film, lighting and texturing for games and film, animation for location-based entertainment (theme park rides), technical artist, broadcast design and animation (television) and scientific visualization.
