– domestic $6,190.16
– international $14,800.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission, you must possess the following:
• A bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma

All applicants whose first language is not English must meet Humber’s English Language Proficiency Policy.

Selection Includes Secondary Requirements: Admission selection is based on the academic criteria indicated and the result of the evaluation of additional secondary requirements. Secondary requirements may include a portfolio, audition, letter of intent, references, etc., and vary by program.

Our Program

The Humber Advertising – Account Management Ontario graduate certificate program will train you to manage the creative process for the benefit of clients at advertising agencies. Graduates will have the skills to work in either a client or agency team – in for-profit, not-for-profit and/or government marketing teams. The content is primarily directed at advertising agencies’ account manager roles but also adapts well to other communication – or design-based companies. Skills learned here can apply to running your own company or working with in-house creative/marketing communications departments in any size organization.

This unique program prepares account managers for the advertising industry by exploring a balance of skills from both the advertising side and creative side of the communication process. By incorporating both people skills and critical thinking skills, you will acquire the essential skills required to succeed in the fast paced creative world of advertising.

This program consists of two academic semesters, with an eight-week placement at the end of the second semester.

Experienced faculty will assist you in developing your writing and analytical skills. Graduates will be an asset in three key areas:

  • Client Relationships – through a deep understanding of the client, their personal and business needs, and through an ability to marshal the agency’s (particularly creative) resource in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Creativity – through an understanding of the creative product, the consumer and the pro-cess to get to the most powerful creative work.
  • Process Management – through the efficient planning and management of the creative process.

Graduates of this program will understand the link between successful creative and client success criteria including return on investment (ROI) and revenue goals. They will be responsible for the successful management of creative projects from concept to completion – relating to product or service communications. This is a writing intensive program. An intimate understanding of integrated marketing communications and its relationship to other aspects of the business will help the graduate succeed in the complex communication horizon that exists today.

Graduates of this program may find employment as advertising and account managers, advertising managers, junior account managers, assistant account managers, account executives and account liaison officers.

Work Placement

The two-month unpaid work placement can start as early as May or as late as July. Faculty work with students to help them find a suitable placement opportunity.
