Fees/Scholarships

The 2016/2017 fee for two semesters is
– domestic $3,937.78
– international $14,200.
Amounts listed are the total of tuition, lab and material fees, student service and auxiliary fees for the first two semesters of the 2016/2017 academic year. Fees are subject to change.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission, you must possess the following:
• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent including these required courses:
– Grade 12 English (ENG4C or ENG4U or equivalent)
– Three Grade 11 or Grade 12 C, M or U courses in addition to those listed above
or
• Mature student status
or
• College or university transfer status

All applicants whose first language is not English must meet Humber’s English Language Proficiency Policy.
 

Our Program

Humber’s Art Foundation certificate program offers you a comprehensive foundation in the basics of current visual arts by exploration within a studio environment of different types of media through the creative process. Our program is designed to allow you to explore your artistic capabilities and help you prepare an art portfolio for your own personal pursuit  of creative expression or to further your education in media art. The program includes the application of fundamental visual, photography, animation arts and writing to prepare you to potentially enter related programs at Humber such as Animation – 3D; Graphic Design; Multimedia Design and Development; Creative Photography; Visual and Digital Arts; and Web Design and Interactive Media.

Your Career

The Art Foundation certificate program offers you your first step into a creative career. The generalized training in many aspects of art will be a launching pad to more study or into the world of work. Some of the areas that you may choose to pursue include web design, multimedia design, animation, advertising and graphic design, and package design.

Your Future Study Options

A pathway between the certificate and related programs is available, with some advanced standing for courses completed within the certificate program.
