Fees/Scholarships

The 2016/2017 fee for two semesters is
– domestic $7,446.54
– international $14,800.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission, you must possess the following:
• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent including these required courses:
– Grade 12 English (ENG4U or equivalent) minimum 65 per cent
– Grade 12 Mathematics (MDM4U, MCB4U, MGA4U, MCV4U or MHF4U or equivalent) minimum 60 per cent (Students who do not possess Grade 12U Mathematics or who have achieved a grade below 60 per cent may be considered for admission.  Students will be required to complete a math equivalency course during their first semester at Humber. Additional course fees will apply.)
– Four Grade 12 U or M courses in addition to those listed above
– Overall minimum grade point average (GPA) 65 per cent
or
• Mature student status
or
• College or university transfer status

All applicants whose first language is not English must meet Humber’s English Language Proficiency Policy.

Selection: Admission selection is based on the academic criteria indicated. Meeting minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee admission.

Our Program

Humber’s Bachelor of Commerce – Marketing degree program gives you a comprehensive grounding in both general business knowledge and specialized marketing skills.
In your first two years, you’ll take introductory courses such as accounting, economics and law, which will teach you the fundamentals of business. Marketing courses, taken in your third and fourth year, give you the specialized knowledge that will help you stand out from the crowd.
You’ll learn from professors recognized for their expertise and extensive industry contacts. The program curriculum, based on current trends, technologies and methodologies, brings real-world challenges into the classroom.
By graduation, you’ll have developed a wide range of marketable skills, including:
– creating a strategic marketing plan
– conducting a product analysis
– using social media and advertising for product promotion
– using databases to create consumer relationships.
Humber’s project-based curriculum means you will take projects from idea to execution while working in a real-world, team-based environment.

Work Placement

The Humber Bachelor of Commerce – Marketing program includes 14 weeks/490 hours of paid work in the summer between your sixth and seventh semesters. This gives you the hands-on, real-world experience that employers value. Your placement gives you the opportunity to explore the field you’d like to work in when you graduate. We will work with employers and our industry partners to identify opportunities for you to pursue.

Alternative Course of Study

Because our Bachelor of Commerce degrees follow a common curriculum for the first two years, you may be eligible to transfer programs if you find your passion lies somewhere other than Marketing. Other areas include Accounting, Digital Business Management, Fashion Management, Finance, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Human Resources Management, International Business, Management Studies or Supply Chain Management.

Applicants who do not meet the admission requirements for the Bachelor of Commerce – Marketing degree program should consider applying for Humber’s Business Administration advanced diploma program 02511, Business Management diploma program 02251 or Business – Marketing diploma program 02411.

Graduates of the Business Administration advanced diploma program with an overall grade point average (GPA) of 70 per cent or more will be considered for admission to Humber’s Bachelor of Commerce – Marketing degree program. Graduates may then complete the degree program with the equivalent of four semesters of full-time study plus a paid work term. Graduates must also possess ENG4U, Humber’s COMM 200/WRIT 100 or COMM 300/WRIT 200 with a grade of 70 per cent or more, plus any Grade 12 U-level Mathematics or Humber’s BMAT 220/BMAT 120 and BSTA 300/BSTA 200 with an average grade of 70 per cent or more.

Graduates of the Business Management diploma program and Business – Marketing diploma program with an overall GPA of 75 per cent or more will be considered for admission to Humber’s Bachelor of Commerce – Marketing degree program. Graduates may then complete the degree program with the equivalent of six semesters of full-time study plus a paid work term. Graduates must also possess ENG4U, Humber’s COMM 200/WRIT 100 or COMM 300/WRIT 200 with a grade of 70 per cent or more, plus any Grade 12 U-level Mathematics or Humber’s BMAT 220/BMAT 120 and BSTA 300/BSTA 200 with an average grade of 70 per cent or more.

Mature students (applicants 21 years of age or over) and/or transfer students (applicants with postsecondary education) should refer to the Mature Student Status and the College or University Transfer for admission criteria.

End Notes

Humber has been granted consent by the Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities to offer this degree for a seven-year term starting April 27, 2012. In conformity with the Minister’s criteria and requirements, Humber will submit an application for the renewal of the consent for this program 12 months prior to the expiration of the consent. Humber shall ensure that all students admitted to this above-named program during the period of consent will have the opportunity to complete the program within a reasonable time frame.
