The 2016/2017 fee for two semesters is
– domestic $3,972.78
– international $14,200.
Amounts listed are the total of tuition, lab and material fees, student service and auxiliary fees for the first two semesters of the 2016/2017 academic year. Fees are subject to change.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission, you must possess the following:
• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent including these required courses:
– Grade 12 English (ENG4C or ENG4U or equivalent)
– Grade 12 Mathematics (MAP4C, MCT4C, MDM4U, MCB4U, MGA4U, MCV4U or MHF4U) or Grade 11 U or M Mathematics (MCR3U or MCF3M)
– Two Grade 11 or Grade 12 C, M or U courses in addition to those listed above
• Mature student status
• College or university transfer status

All applicants whose first language is not English must meet Humber’s English Language Proficiency Policy

Our Program

Learn about the inner workings of Canada’s dynamic business scene, and develop the critical expertise to ignite your career within it. Humber’s Business Management diploma program gets down to business with a practical, skills-based approach that teaches you everything you need to know to achieve your goals and make a difference
in organizations. 

Business Management’s broad curriculum gets you up to speed on the essential aspects of business, including marketing, e-commerce, accounting, business writing and communications. Through individual and group assignments in courses taught by experienced professionals and entrepreneurs, you’ll build your business management knowledge and gain first-hand insights into current business practices, trends and opportunities.

In the first year, you will be introduced to an overview of fundamental business disciplines – including the mathematics of finance, PC essentials, marketing, microeconomics, business law, services marketing and the principles of management.

In the second year, the focus includes business computer applications, accounting, e-commerce, human resources administration, operations management, business finance, leadership and entrepreneurship.

Your Career

Our practical and intensive two-year Business Management diploma program provides you with the knowledge and abilities that will give you an edge in a variety of business roles. As a graduate, your skill set will put you in demand for jobs such as marketing/sales assistant, supervisor and service agent. Your ability to hit the ground running in any business will help you get noticed and get ahead in your organization. 

Looking to unleash your entrepreneurial spirit? You’ll be able to create and manage your own enterprise, or help your family business grow and innovate. Your in-depth understanding of starting a business from the ground up, and your solid leadership, administration and people skills, will help put your business career into high gear.

Work Placement

In the fourth semester, you will be assisted in finding a paid or unpaid business work placement, where you will practise your skills during an 84-hour assignment. This adds valuable hands-on experience to your resumé and provides excellent networking opportunities.

Your Future Study Options

Business Management graduates with an overall grade point average (GPA) of 75 per cent or more will be considered for admission to Humber’s Bachelor of Commerce degree programs. Graduates may then complete the degree program with the equivalent of six semesters of full-time study plus a paid work term.

Graduates must also possess ENG4U or Humber’s COMM 200/WRIT 100 or COMM 300/WRIT 200 with a grade of 70 per cent or more, plus any Grade 12 U-level Mathematics or Humber’s BMAT 220 /BMAT 120 Mathematics of Finance and BSTA 300/BSTA 200 Business Statistics with an average grade of 70 per cent or more.
