Toronto, Ontario – November 10, 2011 – Humber College’s Creative Advertising degree students will host the program’s fourth annual Ad Week, November 14-18. The annual showcase of student work and industry presentations is the most important point of contact between graduating students and Toronto’s advertising industry. In many cases, students have secured internships and jobs at advertising and creative agencies, even before they graduate.
Humber Ad Week allows students to build their industry network while engaging with the reality of the advertising business, as many of the sessions revolve around the best work and sharpest thinking currently being done in Canadian advertising.
“Humber Ad Week is an integral part of the Creative Advertising degree curriculum. Over the last three years, the program’s profile has increased significantly in the business community, to where Humber is seen as a progressive, engaged, leading-edge institution. This reputation is proven by the number of work placements and jobs offered to our students before they complete their studies,” says Richard Bingham, professor, Bachelor of Applied Arts – Creative Advertising.

About the Humber Portfolio Show
The Humber Portfolio Show introduces senior advertising students in the Creative Advertising degree program to more than 100 representatives from Toronto's top creative and advertising agencies.
The show is a casual, mix-and-mingle occasion that allows advertising professionals to talk to students and check out their portfolios in a relaxed and social setting. Humber's program is unique in that it trains art directors, copywriters and account executives (who work in teams), so whatever an agency is looking for in interns and junior hires, they can find it all in one room.
