Toronto, Ontario – April 14, 2011 – Students in Humber College’s Industrial Design degree program are developing innovate designs to solve local and global problems and to improve upon the items we use every day. Graduating students from the four-year degree program will present their final-year thesis projects at the 2011 Industrial Design Thesis Show.

This year’s show features more than 30 design concept models across sectors such as commercial, health and lifestyle, transportation and sustainability. Projects include:
· THE SOTER – An enhanced fire-extinguishing system
· TRAKROK - An all-terrain personal mobility vehicle
· GRO-3 - Hockey padding that grows with the child
· NU-MODE - A new mode of human-powered urban mobility
· AMPLIO - Instant range extension motorcycle
· TRIZONE - Triathlon transition area
· ABSORB - A solar/electric hybrid campus commuter vehicle
· MARKETSPACE - A new street food vending concept
· CROSSWALKER - Independent lifestyle companion cart
· AQUAGUARDIAN - Backyard swimming pool safety monitor
· TAKE-THE-TEST – A testing unit to ensure that you get behind the wheel safely
· EcoRyder – An environmentally friendly bicycle
“Industrial design impacts many aspects of the things we use in daily life.
