Media ReleaseDate: January 20, 2006 Writers' Circle Features - Kelley Aitken And Jack DavidTORONTO – Author Kelley Aitken and publisher Jack David are the featured presenters at the Humber Writers’ Circle scheduled for Saturday, February 18. The session runs from 10:00 am until noon in Building J, Lakeshore Campus, for a fee of $25. Vancouver-born Kelley Aitken is an author, artist, teacher, and illustrator. Her first book, Love in a Warm Climate, was nominated for the Commonwealth Prize, Best First Book. Her latest work, First Writes, which she co-edited, showcases the secrets of first-time authors. Jack David is president and publisher of ECW Press. ECW has been committed to Canadian writing and writers since 1974. More recently, it has been concentrating primarily on works of non-fiction – as well as poetry and fiction. The Humber Writers’ Circle was established by novelist Kim Moritsugu – author of The Glenwood Treasure and the soon-to-be-released The Restoration of Emily - to give participants an opportunity to hear from a noted author and to have the first page of a manuscript assessed by an agent or publisher. The manuscript page must be submitted in advance. Humber’s Lakeshore Campus is located on Colonel Samuel Smith Park Drive (Kipling Avenue south of Lake Shore Blvd. West). -end-
